There are several options for getting help with Path Finder. For starters, you can send Cocoatech an email - you'll find an address on our support page. You can also ask questions, make request features, report bugs, and discuss Path Finder with other customers on the Cocoatech Forum.

In the event that something goes wrong with Path Finder, don't fret! We're here to help. If you contact us via e-mail or the forum we'll need some basic information from you first:

1. What version of OS X are you running (example: 10.5.6)
2. What hardware you are running it on (example: 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro, 4gb RAM)
3. Any major OS add-ons or customizations you are running

In order for use to best help you, we often need very specific information. Try to be as precise as possible in describing your problem:

1. Use a clear title in your e-mail or forum post: “Problem with Desktop” isn't so good, but “Desktop icons will not stay where they are placed” is much better. If you don't suspect a bug but simply have a questions, ask it as a question: “Can I make desktop icons stick in place?”
2. Bug vs Missing Feature: Tell us how you expected Path Finder to behave, as well as how it actually behaved. Many times weird behavior is due to a bug, but other times it's simply an oversight in the design of the software.
3. Steps to reproduce: Give us an idea of what you were doing when you first noticed the problem, what you did to try to correct it, and how things are working for you right now.

The following are optional, but they're very useful to us in troubleshooting potential bugs:

1. Screenshots of the problem you are having if it involves the graphical user interface
2. Console logs
3. Sample reports if Path Finder has frozen
