PF immediately crashes when trying to use a contextual menu that has the new stuffit CM 11.0 inside.
Sad for this, because I use it a lot ...
My system:
Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8K1079)
Mac Pro
Dual-Core Intel Xeon
2.66 GHz
7 GB RAM

oh... :(
Thanks for letting us know. Can you attach a crash log here? Can you also try to reproduce it from a clean user account?

I just switched from my 2.66 to a 3.0 Mac Pro running Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8K1124) and it seems that the problem does not exist there ...
So maybe it only occurs on the build 8K1079.

Oh, ok, it means it has nothing to do with Stuffit 11. It is this famous crash on Mac Pros. The build 8K1079 appears to have a weird runtime issue, which was corrected in build 8K1124. Look at this post (http://www.cocoatech.com/weblog/archives/2006/09/07/000175.php) for details.

BUT: the unusual crash happened though I already have removed all the plugins from the folder Path Finder.app/Contents/Frameworks/StuffitCore.framework/Versions/A/Plug-Ins/.
AND: the crash happend NOT while starting up PathFinder but while trying to access the contextual menu.

Ah, ok. Can you attach a crash log here? I'll forward it to Stuffit developer.

Running PF under Rosetta resolves the context menu crash.

I removed both the Stuffit.framework and StuffitCore.framework and it fixed it. I may not had to remove both, but it pulled Stuffit from the Finder's contextual menu, so problem solved.
Path Finder.app/Contents/Frameworks/StuffitCore.framework
Path Finder.app/Contents/Frameworks/Stuffit.framework

10.4.8 seems to resolve all the crashers that I've found. Running PF under 10.4.8 with StuffIt 11 fully native, no crashes.

Thanks for confirming this, hopefully 10.4.8 will bring all Macs to the same build version of the OS, instead of three different ones.
