The End is Nigh (aka Path Finder 4 is coming)
November 16, 2005It's been a long haul since we first started dreaming about the upgrade that will finally become our biggest release ever, Path Finder 4. In the past 18 months (which were filled with planning and development and countless cups of ginger tea) a lot has happened. Since then Steve and his wife had their first child, the world held its collective breath wondering if Arrested Development would finally get cancelled (sigh), Apple dropped one of the best operating system updates ever, and I probably made more than a few promises regarding Path Finder that in hindsight that I probably shouldn't have.
Yes, we're a long way from my last post about Path Finder 4, where I said:
"We don’t yet have a firm release date, but barring any unexpected catastrophes we anticipate having something available within the next month or two."
Boy, was that an underestimate. In the following months it got so bad someone in the Cocoatech forum actually described Path Finder 4 using the word "Copland" and "vaporware" in the same sentence. Ouch.
Well, I can finally pull my foot out of my mouth and say unequivocally: "It's coming" - in December 2005, to be exact. We've been burning the midnight oil, chewing the candle at both ends, and whipping our sorry little... donkeys to get Path Finder 4 ready, and it's close - damn close.
As we mentioned before, if you purchased Path Finder after September 29th, 2004 you will receive a free upgrade to Path Finder 4 when it's released. So if you've been holding off buying Path Finder, you can feel free to purchase now.
Note: We do not have upgrade information available as of this moment - you can't purchase the upgrade to Path Finder 4 yet (heck, let us release it first!) but we will have more information on this soon.
On November 22nd (11/22, a nicely round date if there ever was one) we will be posting more information on Path Finder 4. In the meantime, if you haven't signed up for news from us, you can do so now by filling out the form below. This is just to receive occasional news from us regarding our products - we won't give or show your email address to anyone else.
Thank you for all of your support, feedback, and patience over the past year - it's the fuel that keeps us going. Keep your eyes peeled for the 22nd!
Neil
