Good OS X Security article

Cool article was posted on the register.

“Beyond critical mass, I would like to believe there’s a better reason for the lack of viruses on OS X, and it’s based on the culture of the Mac — which is distinctly different from other platforms. Is it wrong to try a new computer system and actually enjoy the user experience, for a change? Can you imagine a world where (today) you can click on anything and never worry about malicious intent? Can we not continue this unwritten rule that there can be a platform out there that is simple, easy-to-use, with Unix (and a cool ports tree) underneath that has no threat at all from viruses?”

New Site

Thanks for visiting my new site! I've been real busy this month. I redesigned the web page and I added a bunch of cool features in the new version of Path Finder. I also open sourced parts of my code and added a plugin system so other developers can extend Path Finder.

I got lots of great suggestions after last months release, but unfortunately I didn't have time to add everything. Be patient, I've got many great things in the works.

I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks and will try to release something new shortly after I get back.

I added support forums to my web site. Please try to post your tech support questions there, and if you can answer other peoples questions, please do. The less time I spend handling support question is more time I can write code. :)

Hold off on the suggestions for a few weeks, I'm overloaded right now. It's going to take me some time to catch up.

New Path Finder 2.1, redesigned web site

Thanks for visiting my new website! Today I have released my newest version of Path Finder 2.1, and posted a completely redesigned web site, including this weblog.

The purpose of this weblog is to keep everyone informed on the progress of Path Finder development, and to share OS X tips and other random thoughts. I hope you find it useful. In the past, no one had a clue what was being done to Path Finder or when the new release would be ready. If you check this blog often, you will know what is going on. I hope to post a new message every few days or so.

The new version 2.1 is a huge improvement. There so much new stuff that we didn't have time to mention everything on the new site, so it's best if you download it and check it out for yourself. We are going to be updating the web site often, and a new online manual and a larger FAQ is in the works.

We have big plans for the future of Path Finder. Keep in touch, send your suggestions and keep checking the website for the latest news and information.

Thanks!

Check out my movie

Path Finder won a Macintosh shareware competition in Japan recently. I wanted to attend the meeting and give a speech, but was too busy to fly to Japan. I sent this Quicktime movie instead. It's meant to be funny and entertaining. Everyone at the awards show loved it...

It's 50 megabytes, so it may take a while on a slow connection.
